Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanical Integrity Inspector who is self-motivated and ready to contribute to our team. This role allows work from any location in the United States, which offers the employee the ability to work from home when not assigned to a field project. Home/travel time averages about 75% (home) to 25% (travel).

This position will perform evaluations of aboveground storage tanks and associated piping, as well as construction activities such as welding and repair activities. This position supports a wide variety of projects, both commercial and government, and may lead inspection field efforts.

This position will transition into a secondary field team inspector, with most of the duties then becoming Project Management.

The right candidate could potentially grow into a supervisory role, should company and employee desire, by adding the oversight/management of field teams to this position.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, energetic team player and meet the following requirements:

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain base passes by successfully passing DoD background checks.
  • Ability and desire to travel to project locations, domestic and international.
  • Passport required or ability to get passport.
  • 5 years of experience inspecting fuel storage tanks.
  • 2 years of experience inspecting DoD storage tanks.
  • American Petroleum Institute 653 certification required.

Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory but increase base salary):

  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification.
  • API 570 certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • NDT experience.

Experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of design principles and construction methods related to fuel storage tanks, and fuel piping systems.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced technical writing abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite

Position Requirements:

  • Travel to project sites, domestic and international, for varying periods. Ability to travel independently.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for sustained period of time.
  • Must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, crouch on uneven surfaces.
